I think he's been fine, but I don't think he's been any better than Versteeg when he's been playing well.

Point being that regardless of who Versteeg replaces in the lineup, we are not getting any worse in the bottom 6.

Yeah, Hath is effectively filling the Bouma role, less the shot blocks. Fine with him in a bottom 3 role though, at least brings some energy and will drive the net.

Stewart is exactly what he's been for most of his career, which is inconsistent at best, he's just slower now. And he got tossed by Nurse in front of the net like a rag doll last night to boot...

I think he's been fine, but I don't think he's been any better than Versteeg when he's been playing well.

Are you just going to ignore the fact that he was the worst forward on the team this year when he was playing?

He did all right on the power play but brings less to the team than anyone else they’ve dressed this year besides maybe Glass.

He’s slow, he’s bad defensively, and has zero physicality to his game. What line is he going to make better?

We'll see how healthy he is when he returns. I think he was pretty banged up prior to his surgery.

I thought Lazar has been pretty good lately so I would like to see him stick but I am not sure where he can slot in. I would have said, until last night, he could have Stajan's spot but that one shot block at the end of last nights game put Stajan up the list of depth players. I would be ok with giving Lazar a chance up on the 3rd line with Benny and Janko as well.

Meh, dude can move the puck, has slick hands, and is still pretty good on the powerplay.

You were ripping on Steeger for a while then he got injured and you said something along the lines of "who knew Versteeg was so important to our powerplay?" Well he was. The man has an innate ability to recieve shítty passes and get the play settled down.

Hopefully he can help work Brodie out of this funk too. They have good chemistry on the half-boards.

And hey; if you value speed, defensive play, and physicality: stop rippin on my boy Hathaway. He rocks and we havent seen the best of him yet.

Agree on Lazar, guys fast, hits, just can't score but love the energy! Stagans block at the end shows why he's still in the lineup. Brouwer has looked a lot better, not disappointed him playing bottom 6 just don't understand why he's used on the power play, but again were talking Gully here.
